Director - Sustainability | Embark India Development Fellow

Welcome! This initiative is a vibrant stepping stone towards actionable grassroots implementation and localized policy change. My core motivation is bridging the gap between national environmental goals and on-ground ecological realities.

Academic & Professional Background

I hold a Master of Science in Environmental & Sustainable Development (Earth & Atmospheric Sciences) from Banaras Hindu University and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences from UAS Dharwad. I am currently pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law and Policy from WWF-India and National Law University, Delhi.

Presently, I serve as the Director - Sustainability at the EcoServe Development Foundation and as an Embark India Development Fellow placed at National CAMPA (MoEF&CC). My work focuses on strengthening the Nagar Van Yojana, advancing ecosystem restoration, and developing Digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (DMRV) systems that bridge grassroots implementation with national-level policy and governance. I integrate geospatial analysis, mixed-methods evaluation, and environmental law perspectives to build transparent, scalable, and community-centered climate solutions.

Vision for a Viksit Bharat & Sustainability

India's commitment to its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) requires decentralized, data-driven action. Urban forestry via Nagar Vans and Nagar Vatikas represents a crucial, lively strategy to create carbon sinks, combat the Urban Heat Island effect, and foster vibrant community resilience alongside local vendors and citizens.

This platform empowers everyone—from park visitors to policymakers—to monitor real-time metrics, effectively driving us collectively towards a truly sustainable, developed nation: a Viksit Bharat.
